Spring has sprung!
Join us this Earth Day week by reconnecting with the land and planting vegetable seedlings in the field(s) at Chatfield Farms—nutrient-dense food that will grow and find a place at tables within our local community.
At this extension of Denver Botanic Gardens, growers cultivate six acres of mixed vegetables for their Community Food Share while also operating weekly, affordable farm stands at both Denver Human Services and City of Denver locations. At these farm stands, Chatfield Farms hosts cooking demos, nutrition classes (courtesy of Cooking Matters), and Double Up Food Bucks Colorado which gives SNAP customers twice the buying power to purchase fruits and vegetables. Spending time on a farm in the springtime air is a wonderful way to start your weekend and replenish your soul. Sustainably grown coffee will be served hot and spots this year are limited!
For this event, we will meet at the Earl J. Sinnamon Visitor Center and walk to the field(s).
Parents and children welcome!
